This panel discussion focuses on the history and validity of a state assessment system over 100 years old. The following issues will be addressed:

New York’s experience may serve as a model for states now seeking to develop a measurement instrument. Panelists will reflect upon their personal experiences writing and assembling the exam and participating in the process of framing the NewYork State Latin curriculum, which is the basis of the examination.
